For Cities and Municipalities

Intersection Monitoring for Every Movement, Live or Recorded

GoodVision intersection monitoring turns the cameras at your junctions and roundabouts into turning movement counts, delay, near-miss safety measures and live violation events. It is built for city traffic engineers and operations teams. Run it continuously on live streams with GoodVision Live Traffic, or on recorded video with GoodVision Video Insights, with counts at 95%+ accuracy, validated against manual counts.

What You Measure

Every Movement Through the Junction

GoodVision follows every vehicle, pedestrian and cyclist through the junction as a full trajectory. From that one dataset you get classified turning movement counts, origin-destination pairs, speeds, time gaps, delay and near-miss measures, so one system answers every question your engineers ask about the intersection.

Classified Turning Movement Counts

Counts per movement and per road user class, exported as the Count Report, with a Peak Hour report from the same data.

Origin and Destination

Place lines on each approach and generate every origin-destination movement automatically, then export the OD Matrix.

Speed and Time Gaps

Average and 85th percentile speeds, plus the time gap between consecutive vehicles on each movement.

Delay and Queue Waiting Time

Occupancy time shows how long road users are held at the junction, and the Hold-up heatmap shows where it happens.

Near-Miss Safety

Post-encroachment time (PET) and time to collision (TTC) score every conflict between vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.

Live Violation Events

Wrong-way driving, speed limit violations, vehicle stops and illegal parking, raised as live events on your camera streams.

Live or Recorded

Which Product Fits Your Intersection Project?

Use GoodVision Live Traffic when you need continuous monitoring and live events from a junction. Use GoodVision Video Insights when you need a survey or a study from recorded footage. Both run on cameras of any brand, and both produce Excel reports in .xls format.

Continuous Monitoring With Live Traffic

Live Traffic reads your camera streams around the clock and sends events to your traffic management center over HTTPS in under a second. The REST API serves counts and speeds aggregated from 1 second to 24 hours. See GoodVision Live Traffic.

Studies From Recorded Video With Video Insights

Upload footage from a fixed camera or a drone. Traffic camera footage is processed within hours. You define movements after processing and generate as many reports as you need without processing the video again. See GoodVision Video Insights.

Road Safety

Find Risky Junctions Before the Crash Record Does

GoodVision measures near-misses at intersections with two surrogate safety measures, post-encroachment time (PET) and time to collision (TTC). It analyzes vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists in one study, runs 90% faster than reviewing video by hand, and supports Vision Zero and Safe System programs with evidence gathered before crashes occur.

Post-Encroachment Time

The time between one road user leaving a conflict point and another reaching it, measured for every interaction in the scene.

Time to Collision

Projected time to a collision on the current paths, with configurable ranges from 0.1 to 1.5 seconds and angle filtering.

Every Conflict Keeps Its Video

Each flagged event links to its trajectory and video evidence, and exports to a detailed Excel report.

Measure Near-Misses Before They Become Crashes

GoodVision measures near-misses from the footage, so you see where a junction is dangerous while there is still time to change it. For full safety studies, see Road Safety Analysis. For the timing side of the same junction, see Signal Performance.

Questions

Questions About Intersection Monitoring

These are the questions city teams ask before they put GoodVision on a junction: whether it runs on their cameras, how accurate the counts are, how fast recorded video comes back and what it detects. For the full picture of intersection analytics for your city, see Cities and Municipalities.

Does It Work With Our Existing Junction Cameras?

In most cases, yes. GoodVision reads RTSP streams in H.264 or H.265, from 640x480 to 1920x1080, at 10 to 50 frames per second, from cameras of any brand. Each road user needs to fill at least 5% of the camera view.

How Accurate Are the Turning Movement Counts?

Counts and classifications reach 95%+ accuracy, validated against manual counts.

How Fast Do Recorded Studies Come Back?

Footage from a traffic camera mounted 5 to 30 meters high is processed within hours. High drone footage comes back the same day.

Does GoodVision Detect Crashes at Intersections?

No. It measures near-misses with PET and TTC, which show risk before a crash happens.

Do You Detect Red-Light Running?

It can be built for your intersections as a custom scenario, and so can illegal turns and stop-sign violations. The violations that run live today are wrong-way driving, speed limit violations, vehicle stops and illegal parking.

Can It Feed Our Traffic Management Center?

Yes. Live events go out over HTTPS in under a second, and the REST API serves counts, speeds and occupancy, filtered by road user class and by movement lane.
